General Training Information
I'm looking for training for just myself—can I register for one of your courses?
Unfortunately, no—we do not currently offer public workshops for individual enrollment. Our focus is on customized, instructor-led training designed specifically for the needs of each organization.
Because each session is tailored to a specific group—and often includes internal discussions or confidential examples—individuals cannot join another client’s session.
If you’re an individual looking to build your skills, we recommend exploring the self-paced online courses on Udemy.
Some of our trainers also offer personalized one-on-one coaching, starting at $250 per hour. Contact us to learn more.
How are your courses customized?
We tailor every course to fit your team’s specific needs, goals, and industry. Before the session, we’ll ask about your challenges, skill levels, and real-world scenarios. Then, we adjust the content, examples, and activities to make the training relevant and practical for your group.
What industries and sectors do you work with?
We work with a wide range of sectors—corporate, healthcare, education, non-profits, and manufacturing, to name a few. We also deliver training to all levels of government, especially municipal, as well as to Indigenous organizations and communities. Our experience includes working in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
We tailor every course to your team’s unique goals, challenges, and industry context, so the training is always relevant and practical.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance to ensure instructor availability and allow time to customize the training. Some topics and trainers are in high demand, so securing your date as early as possible is always a good idea.
Many of our clients schedule sessions months—or even a year—in advance as part of their annual training calendars. If you’re on a tighter timeline, feel free to reach out—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
What kind of experience do your trainers have?
Our trainers are subject-matter experts with deep experience in their fields. Many have worked as senior leaders, consultants, or educators in the areas they teach. While they bring a broad understanding of workplace dynamics, each trainer is carefully matched to your topic and industry to ensure practical, relevant training.
What’s the difference between a course and a workshop?
A course is usually longer, structured over several sessions, and designed to build knowledge step by step.
A workshop is shorter (often a single session), highly interactive, and focused on practical skills you can apply right away.
In practice, the distinction isn’t always strict — many courses include workshop-style activities, and organizations sometimes use the terms interchangeably depending on the audience and goals.
Can we make a course shorter—like going from a full-day to a half-day?
In many cases, yes. We can often shorten a course by focusing on key topics or streamlining activities. Just keep in mind that a shorter session may limit the depth or interactivity of the training. Let us know what you’re looking for, and we’ll recommend the best format for your goals.
Is it possible to cover two topics in one training session?
It’s possible to combine two topics into a single session. However, we’ll need to ensure that the trainer is a subject-matter expert in both areas, and that the combined content fits well within the available time.
We’ll also work with you to ensure the session remains focused and impactful—rather than trying to cover too much and reducing the effectiveness of the training. Let us know what topics you’re considering, and we’ll help you design the right approach for your team.
Should I book a workshop, keynote, online course, or coaching session?
That depends on several things: your goals, audience size, budget, timing, and how you want people to engage. On our Comparison of Training Options page, we lay out key features like format, interaction level, expected outcome, and customization.
Here’s a quick guideline:
A workshop delivers hands-on skill building through interactive group learning.
A keynote inspires or informs a large audience in a short, high-impact session.
An online course is learn-at-your-own pace, making it ideal for those who need scheduling freedom.
Coaching provides personalized guidance to support individual growth and behavior change.
If you tell us your goals and constraints, we’d be happy to help you select the format that fits you best.
Can you provide references from other clients?
We respect our clients’ time and privacy, so we typically don’t provide references for smaller engagements (generally four days of training or less). That said, you’re welcome to speak with the trainer before signing the agreement to ensure they’re a good fit for your team.
We also don’t require payment in advance—our standard practice is to invoice after the first day of training is complete.
For more substantial contracts or formal procurement processes, or if a reference is essential to your decision-making, let us know. We have strong relationships with many clients and can often accommodate the request.
What are the steps to schedule a training session?
The whole process is simple and streamlined:
- Fill out our quote form to let us know what you’re looking for.
- We’ll respond within one business day with a detailed proposal/quote. If we need more information, we’ll give you a quick call or email.
- If you’d like more details about course content, we can arrange a no-obligation virtual meeting with the trainer.
- Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll help you select a training date and time that works for your team.
- We’ll send a training agreement for your review and signature.
- You’ll have a customization call with the trainer to tailor the content to your team’s needs.
- We’ll ship any required training materials in advance of the session.
- The trainer delivers the session on the scheduled date.
- After the training, we can provide completion certificates (if requested) and a course evaluation form.
- We’ll then send the invoice for the course.
With over 30 years of experience and thousands of workshops delivered, we know how to deliver training that’s smooth, flexible, and tailored to your team’s needs.
Group Size and Location
How many people can participate in a training session?
Most of our workshops are designed for up to 20 participants to keep the sessions interactive and engaging. Groups larger than that may feel more like a lecture, which can limit participation.
Some courses have smaller group limits depending on the topic. For example, in presentation skills workshops where each participant delivers a presentation, we recommend a smaller group to ensure everyone has time to practice.
Be sure to check the course description for any specific group size limits. If you have one or two more participants than the cap, let us know—we may still be able to accommodate your group.
If you’re planning a large group session, we also offer keynote-style presentations and custom engagements designed for bigger audiences.
Is there a minimum group size?
While there’s no strict minimum, our interactive workshops are most effective with groups of 6 or more participants. We can accommodate smaller groups, but please note that per-person costs may be higher due to the fixed time and preparation involved in delivering the session.
For very small teams, we also offer personalized coaching options. Feel free to contact us—we’ll help you find the right solution for your needs.
Can we do hybrid (on-site and virtual) combined training?
Yes, we can deliver training in a hybrid format, where some participants join in person and others join virtually.
If your organization can provide the necessary technology (camera, microphone, screen, and reliable internet), there’s no additional cost. If you’d like us to supply the equipment and a technical producer to manage the virtual side of the session, additional fees will apply.
We’re happy to walk you through the setup and provide a quote based on your needs.
What locations do you provide the training?
We provide training across Canada, either on-site at your location, virtually via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, or in a hybrid format that combines in-person and virtual delivery to accommodate dispersed teams. Our facilitators travel to cities, towns, and remote communities* of all sizes, depending on your needs.
If you’re located outside of Canada, let us know—we’re happy to explore virtual options where possible.
Please note: Travel and accommodation fees will apply depending on the trainer’s location and required travel time. These will be clearly outlined in your customized quote.
*Training in remote communities is subject to trainer availability, which may be affected by travel time, transportation options, seasonal access, and weather conditions.
Where are you located? Can we do the training at your location?
My Training Network is a Canada-wide training provider, based in Ontario, with facilitators located across the country. Our model is built around bringing the training to you—whether that’s on-site at your workplace or delivered virtually.
If you’d prefer on-site training but your office isn’t a suitable option, you’re welcome to arrange an off-site venue that meets your team’s needs. This could be a hotel conference room, co-working space, or community centre—whatever works best for your group and location.
We also have an office in Burlington, Ontario, where we can host training sessions for up to 10 participants.
Will you deliver 'on-site' training outside of Canada?
A course is usually longer, structured over several sessions, and designed to build knowledge step by step. A workshop is shorter (often a single session), highly interactive, and focused on practical skills you can apply right away.
In practice, the distinction isn’t always strict — many courses include workshop-style activities, and organizations sometimes use the terms interchangeably depending on the audience and goals.
Pricing
How much does a training course cost?
Training costs vary depending on several factors—such as the topic, course length, delivery format (on-site, virtual, or hybrid), location, group size, and level of customization. Because of these variables, we’ll need a few details from you to provide an accurate quote.
Training is offered at a flat rate per course—not per participant—making it a cost-effective choice for team development.
Note: Some workshops may involve additional fees for third-party tools or assessments (e.g., DiSC, Myers-Briggs, or other behavioural insights tools). These are billed per participant and will be clearly itemized in your quote.
To get a custom quote, simply fill out our quote form—we usually respond within one business day.

Is pricing based on the number of participants or a flat course fee?
We charge per course, not per person. Our pricing typically covers up to 20 participants, making it a cost-effective option for teams. If you have a larger group or specific requirements, let us know—we’ll provide a custom quote.
Please note: Third-party tools or assessments (such as DiSC, Myers-Briggs, or other behavioural insights tools) are not included in the base rate and are charged per participant. These costs will be clearly outlined in your quote.
Is there an extra cost for customizing a course?
No—basic customization is included in our standard pricing. We tailor each session to your team’s goals, industry, and workplace examples.
If you’re looking for a fully custom-designed course built from the ground up, additional fees may apply. Let us know what you need, and we’ll provide a clear quote.
Do you charge extra for Hybrid Training?
If you’re providing the required technology (such as a camera, microphone, screen, and stable internet), there’s no additional cost for hybrid delivery.
If you need us to supply the equipment and a technical producer to manage the virtual component, additional fees will apply. We’ll include any related costs in your custom quote.
Do we need to pay in advance? Do you require a deposit?
No deposit is required to book a session. We typically invoice after the training is delivered, with full payment due 30 days after the first course date.
What are your payment terms? What forms of payment do you accept?
Full payment is due 30 days after the first course date. If you need a different payment schedule, just let us know in advance—we’re happy to work with you.
You can pay by electronic funds transfer (EFT), Interac e-Transfer, wire transfer, or cheque. The quoted price includes a discount for using one of these payment methods.
If you’d prefer to pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Amex), a 2.4% processing fee will be added to your invoice to cover bank charges. We’re happy to include this fee in the total quoted amount if that’s your preference—just mention it when requesting your quote.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because cancelling or rescheduling a program on short notice can result in lost income that’s difficult to recover, a portion of the course fee will be charged as follows:
| Days Before Course | Reschedule Fee | Cancellation Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Over 21 days | $0 | $0 |
| 14–21 days | 20% | 40% |
| 7–13 days | 30% | 60% |
| Under 7 days | 40% | 80% |
Note: Any non-refundable expenses already incurred (e.g., flights, hotels, car rentals, or third-party tools like DiSC/MBTI profiles) will be reimbursed at cost, if applicable.
The course may be rescheduled at no additional cost—within six months and on a mutually agreed-upon date—in the event of public health restrictions, facilitator illness or health concerns, poor weather or travel conditions (for on-site training), or significant technical issues or internet outages (for virtual training).
Materials, Certificates, and Add-Ons
What training materials are provided to participants?
All participants receive course materials to support their learning.
For on-site sessions, we provide printed materials, such as workbooks or handouts—and often include a laminated tip sheet for quick reference.
For virtual sessions, materials are shared in digital format (usually as PDFs), either before or during the session.
These resources are yours to keep and can be used for future reference after the training.
Do your courses have an exam or test?
Our instructor-led courses do not include a formal exam or test. Instead, we focus on practical, hands-on learning through discussions, interactive activities, and real-world application.
Some courses may include self-marked quizzes to help participants review key concepts and reinforce their learning.
Will participants receive a certificate after the training?
Yes, we provide digital Certificates of Completion for most training sessions. These can be printed or added to a LinkedIn profile to highlight professional development.
Can we record virtual training sessions?
Our virtual training sessions are live, interactive, and designed for registered participants only. Recording is not permitted unless approved in advance or requested to accommodate an absent participant.
If a recording is approved, an additional fee applies to cover editing and secure hosting. The edited video will be posted to a private online channel and will be available for up to 30 days.
Please note that because our sessions are highly interactive—with breakout discussions, group activities, and live feedback—a recording may not offer the same learning experience as participating in the live session.
Do your courses qualify for professional development hours or CEUs?
Many of our courses can be used toward professional development hours (PDHs) or continuing education units (CEUs), depending on your industry or association requirements.
While we don’t issue official CEUs through a governing body, we do provide certificates of completion and can supply course outlines to help you meet your reporting needs.
We recommend checking with your professional association to confirm whether the training qualifies.
Other Services and Employment
Do you offer personalized coaching for individuals?
We do. Some of our trainers offer coaching for individuals or small teams. Sessions are customized to your goals and schedule, and are typically delivered virtually for flexibility and convenience.

Can you provide a trainer to deliver our internal training content?
Absolutley, we offer a trainer-for-hire service where one of our experienced facilitators can deliver your organization’s existing training materials—whether it’s a pre-developed course, orientation program, or internal workshop.
We’ll work with you to understand the content and context, and ensure the delivery aligns with your goals, audience, and tone.
Do you assist with course design and content development?
We offer instructional design services to help you create or improve training materials that are engaging, effective, and aligned with your learning objectives.
We can assist with everything from course design and curriculum development to slide decks, participant guides, and custom e-learning modules. Whether you’re starting from scratch or refining existing content, we’ll work with you to create a solution that fits your organization’s needs.
Can you train our team to deliver your course content?
In some cases, yes. Train-the-trainer programs are available for select courses, depending on the topic and how the material is designed.
When available, we’ll equip your internal facilitators with the course content, delivery strategies, and a trainer guide to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Please note that licensing fees apply to use our materials for internal delivery. Get in touch to find out if train-the-trainer is an option for the course you’re interested in.
